This performance has a 2 show format.
The first is a 45min retrospective. A one woman monologue, with dance features where Punany’s Lady in Red and featured dancer navigate coming into ones own. The 4 scene performance features a smallish girl and Punany’s Lady in Red positioned on opposite sides of a full length mirror. Each are looking into and through the looking glass.
2) A 1 1/2 hour production with 1or 2 additional performers delivering a perspective look back from whence one comes into the present.
The stage is set Scene 1 opens with a full length mirror turned sideways (no glass).
A recorded opening intro (spoken over head) Lights up, excerpts from the upcoming release “Coming Unraveled: Dairy of a Debutant Hustler”,plays.
Lights black out, overhead plays soft music while muted spotlight reveals dancer (small girl in a dance proclaiming innocence) A dance of light and dark continue as lights go out on each side, and come up on the other and the spoken word equivalent of the dance proceeds.
In Scene 2 lights continue to alternate as the performers go back and forth in a visual reflection that ends in the quest for a relationship. Lights go down on The Lady in Red. End of scene two.
Scene 3 opens with the danced accompanied imagery of Barstool Fantasies which is filled with an erotic search for emotional and physical fulfillment born out of a longing for true love and commitment, borne upon a need to satisfy some unmet desire. The scene continues as it depicts life’s chaotic roller coaster of bad relationships, abuses, misuses, traumas, and their aftermath which leave a woman in shambles waiting to be reborn. The Lady in Red reads as the dancer depicts a woman dying inside and then on to picking up the pieces hope born in the idea of one day finding someone who will love her. Lights go down on The Lady in Red. End of scene three(musical transition )
Scene 4 begins as lights continue to alternates sides as pieces about depression/ mental illness, discovering ones strengths, and moving on are portrayed by poet and dancer. Lights go down and end scene four.
As the Finale begins The Lady in Red and features performers speak and dance pieces of growth, self-love, rebirth, reflection. Lights go out on last side, come up on both side. Performers are introduced and applauded. Lights go down End.
